Possibly too light weight
I think that the frame may be too light weight. One chair frame snapped immediately when I sat on it and I am only 135#.

These chairs arrived quickly and didn't really require assembly at all. Just putting the canvas seat and back in place. They are comfortable, and the frame appears strong enough, but one can tell they've cut corners by splicing together different pieces of wood, and there are also some glue spots visible on the wood. I am comparing these chairs to my Telescope brand directors chairs and the Newport chairs are not of that quality, but they are one third the cost.

This chair is definitely not what I expected, based on the photo. Rather than a birch or maple light wood color and grain, the chair appears to be constructed from poplar and that includes the greenish and darker colors commonly found in that wood species. Also, rather than solid wood pieces, the chair is made up of wood stock that has been created by glueing smaller pieces together. The glue joints are clearly visible. Functionally, the chair is acceptable, but the appearance is not that of a good quality of wood. If you are concerned about the appearance, I couldn't recommend this item. It is a disappointment. But, the item was delivered very rapidly.
